What we keep, what we don’t, and why.
In plain words. The legal version is the privacy policy; if they ever disagree, the legal version wins, and we’ll fix this one.
The text your AI wrote
When you paste your AI’s portrait, or your AI hands it to us through a connector, we read it once to build your profile and then discard it. It is never stored as a transcript. Connector links hold the text for at most 24 hours, only until the link is opened, then delete it.
What we build from it
Your profile: a headline, a set of claims about you, and for each claim your AI’s short note on how it knows it. Before we keep anything, we set aside:
- anything about other people in your life (partner, family, friends, colleagues);
- sexual orientation, religion, politics, health, and money, unless you later choose to share a topic explicitly;
- names of employers, companies you hold, or real people.
The profile page tells you what was set aside, and how much.
What you tell us directly
Your answers on which claims are right, who you’re looking for, your email address if you keep your portrait, and your Google account’s email if you sign in with Google. We don’t receive your Google password or contacts.
Where it lives
On servers in the United States, with providers we’ve vetted: Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database, photos and sign-in), Anthropic (the models that read your portrait, write reports and check photos and messages for safety), OpenRouter and TypeSafe (a first safety check on messages), Linear (where our team tracks safety reports), Stripe (payments; we never see your card), Resend (email), PostHog (analytics and recordings of our public pages), and Google (sign-in, if you use it). Each one processes data only on our instructions. Meta, TikTok and Google get the ad measurement below under their own terms. The full list, with roles, is in the privacy policy.
Analytics
We measure how Veram is used so we can improve it. Without your consent this is cookieless: every visit looks like a stranger. With your consent we set one analytics cookie so we can see a journey across visits. Your portrait never goes into analytics. On our public pages we also record how a visit goes (what was on the screen, scrolling and taps) to see where people get stuck. Anything you type or paste is hidden, and the step where you paste your AI’s answer is left out. Nothing is recorded once you’ve signed in on that browser. Recordings are deleted after 30 days. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a “no” to both.
Ad measurement
We advertise Veram on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. In the US, the Meta and TikTok pixels and the Google tag on our site tell those companies when a visitor makes a portrait, finishes a profile, reveals someone or buys reveals. TikTok’s pixel can also note by itself which buttons and links you tap, and the words on them. That way they can tell which ads worked and show them to people likely to join. If you’re signed in, they also get your email and account ID, scrambled in your browser first, so they can match a step to an account you may have with them. We never send them your portrait, answers, photos, messages, name, gender or who you’re looking for. We never sell your data. You can turn it off on the privacy page, and a Global Privacy Control signal turns it off too. It never runs in Europe.
Who can see your profile
By default, only you. Someone you’re introduced to sees your match percentage, where you rhyme and the one rub. No name, no photos. Your first name, photos and full portrait are shown only to a person who chooses to meet you; messages open only when you both do. Nothing is public and nothing is searchable.
Your deep profile
From your profile and answers we score you on a few dozen scales (what you value, where your life is going, how you are with someone, your rhythms) and how you tend to handle a disagreement. You see every scale on your portrait page, can let your own AI sharpen them, and can answer the ones nobody could tell. Two private scales about steadiness and closeness are off unless you switch them on; they are never quoted or shown to anyone, and switching them off deletes them.
To order your introductions, a model also reads pairs of profiles that already fit each other’s filters and estimates how well they fit. Nobody sees that estimate; it only decides who you meet first.
Who can see your photos
Only someone who has read your portrait and said meet. Photos are stored privately, location and camera details are removed on upload, and every link to them expires within the hour.
Your rights
A copy of everything, or deleting everything, is one tap below when you’re signed in. No email needed. Deleting removes your portrait, photos, answers, introductions, messages and your account. To correct something, or if anything here doesn’t work, write to hello@veram.io and we’ll do it within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Blocking and reporting
From any introduction you can unmatch or report. Either ends it for good: the thread closes, neither of you appears in the other’s introductions again, and the other person is never told why. Reports reach a human.
Age
Veram is for adults, 18 and over. We ask for your date of birth and check it; an account that gives a date under 18 can’t be introduced to anyone, and if we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we delete it.
