Be someone worth meeting.
Veram introduces people through honest portraits of who they are. That only works if those portraits are true and the people behind them are kind. These guidelines are how we keep it that way, and they are Veram’s acceptable use policy. They apply to your portrait, your answers, your photos and every message. Updated 21 October 2026.
Not allowed on Veram
Breaking any of these gets an account closed, and we report what the law requires us to.
- Anyone under 18, or pretending to be older.
- Anything illegal, including using Veram to plan or carry out a crime.
- Sexually explicit profiles: nudity or sexual content in photos, portraits or answers.
- Any content that sexualises, exploits or abuses a child. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
- Sexual violence, threats of it, or pressuring anyone into sexual contact.
- Non-consensual content: sharing intimate images, messages or details of someone without their permission.
- Human trafficking, sex trafficking, sex work or escort services, or helping anyone take part in them.
- Scams and fraud: romance scams, asking for money, gifts or investments, fake identities, phishing or selling anything to members.
- Harassment, hate, stalking or abuse, or encouraging others to do it.
1. Be yourself
Your portrait comes from your own AI and your own life, so the rest of you should match it.
- Use the first name you actually go by.
- Upload recent photos of you, alone or clearly you. No photos of other people without their agreement, no children, no nudity.
- Don’t use AI to generate or reshape your photos.
- Be truthful about your age, where you live and whether you’re available. One account per person.
- Only ever paste a portrait about yourself.
2. Adults only
Veram is for people 18 and over. We check the date of birth you give, and we close any account we learn belongs to someone under 18. If you think a minor is using Veram, tell us at hello@veram.io.
3. Respect
- No harassment, threats, stalking, insults or pressure.
- No hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- No sexual messages unless someone has clearly asked for them, and no nude or sexual photos at all. Photos sent in a conversation are checked like profile photos. Voice messages are checked like written ones.
- On a video call, the same rules apply: no nudity or sexual acts unless you both clearly want it, and never anything that pressures someone. Hang up whenever you like, and report anyone who crosses a line.
- No sex work, escort services, human trafficking or sexual exploitation of anyone, and nothing that sexualises a minor. We report this to the authorities.
- Don’t abuse anyone, or encourage or help anyone else to.
- Disagree kindly. You read the honest “rub” before you met; it isn’t a weapon.
4. Consent and boundaries
Saying meet is an invitation, not a promise. Anyone can pass, stop replying or unmatch at any time, without giving a reason. Take a no, or a silence, as an answer. Don’t move someone to another app or ask for their number before they offer it.
5. Keep what’s shared on Veram
Someone’s name, photos, messages and the report about the two of you were shared with you, not with the world. Don’t screenshot, post or forward them without their permission.
6. No money, no selling
Never ask another member for money, gifts, investments or financial details, and never send them. No promoting a business, a cause or another service, and no spam. If someone asks you for money, report them.
7. Meet safely
Meet in a public place, tell a friend where you’ll be, and get there and back on your own. Veram does not run background checks. The verified mark only means someone’s live selfie matched their first photo when it was checked. Read our safety tips before you meet anyone.
8. How we check, and how to report
Every photo is checked automatically, by an AI model, before anyone else can see it. A photo that breaks these guidelines (nudity or sexual content, anyone who looks under 18, children, weapons or hate symbols, contact details or ads, or no real person in it) is turned away with the reason, and the serious cases go to a person on our team. Every message is checked automatically too, for signs of selling sex, trafficking, minors, requests for money, payment links, threats and harassment; a voice message is turned into text for the same check. Video calls go straight between the two phones: nobody records them or watches them, so if something goes wrong on a call, report it. A person on our team reads anything flagged, with the conversation around it, and decides what happens.
Once you can see who someone is, open the menu (⋯) on their introduction or your conversation and choose Report. They’re blocked for you straight away and never introduced to you again, and a person on our team reads every report. You can also write to hello@veram.io. Anyone, member or not, can ask us to remove something; an intimate image shared without consent is removed within 48 hours. In an emergency, call 911.
Some things pause an account straight away, hiding it from everyone while a person on our team takes a look: signs that someone may be under 18, possible child sexual abuse material, selling sex or trafficking, threats, or reports from two different people. Lesser breaches, like asking for money, sharing payment links, harassment, or trying to add a sexual or violent photo, get a warning first; a second one within 90 days pauses the account. A person decides every ban. A banned account can’t sign in again, and we keep fingerprints of its email address, Google account, payment cards and photos so it can’t come back under another name. Think we got it wrong? Reply to our email, or write to hello@veram.io, within 30 days.
When someone breaks these guidelines we may remove content, limit what they can do, or close their account, depending on what happened. Serious or unlawful behavior is reported to the authorities. The full rules are in our terms, section 6; if this page and the terms ever disagree, the terms apply.
